Live piano in the bar area was very welcoming. We sat at the bar for happy hour - lots of good food specials but no drink specials. We tried the meatballs, raw oysters and Rockefeller which were all good. The bartender quick and friendly. I started with Guinness from the tap. Also tried a number of different bourbons - great selections available.

Dock's Oyster House is perfect for a date night, offering a charming ambiance and an outstanding seafood-focused menu. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared: * Raw Oysters: Generously sized and incredibly fresh--an ideal start to the meal. * Steamed Clams: Served in a rich, savory tomato sauce that was absolutely delicious. * Pecan-Crusted Salmon: The highlight of the evening! The crispy skin and perfectly cooked medium salmon was divine, paired beautifully with sautéed mushrooms and spinach. This is a must-try!!! * Crème Brûlée: The perfect sweet finale--silky, creamy, and caramelized to perfection. *CHEF'S KISS*

Came here for a dinner date with the hubby and we really enjoyed the dinner! We missed happy hour but we still got a dozen of oysters and half dozen clams to try. We asked for a variety of oysters and they all had their unique taste but all were fresh. The scallops dish was hearty and cooked to perfection. The scallops were well seared but still plump on the inside. The steak was cooked to medium rare as requested. For an extremely busy restaurant, service was pretty good and server was knowledgeable. There is valet parking on the left side of the restaurant.

This is a review strictly for their Happy Hour but given how much we liked it, I am sure non Happy Hour is just as good. Stupidly, we thought 4:15pm on a Monday wouldn't be so bad, we could easily snag a seat. How wrong were we! However, after waiting for 35/40 minutes with a drink in hand, we were able to snag a seat at the bar...and that is where the fun began. While we originally were not intending to make our dinner from a Happy Hour, how can you say no to amazing delectable seafood options for all under $10. My wife and I shared: Lobster Mac and Cheese: My favorite. Creamy, delectable, and served in a lobster shell for g-ds sake. Presentation at its' finest! Tuna Tacos: My wife's favorite and my number 2. Honestly, these might be the best tuna tacos I have ever had with great tuna, just enough soy and spicy mayo to enhance flavor and not overpower the fish, and a perfectly crisp wonton taco wrapper that was not greasy at all. Corn and Crab Chowder: Pretty good with some good bites of corn and sweet crab but after a few spoonfuls the flavor gets a bit boring. But hey, a whole bowl for $5 can't be beat Fried Oysters (Marinara): A good dish if not the best vehicle to show off the oyster. Our bartender Joe called it a seafood chicken parm and it really did taste like it. Next time I would try a different preparation. Oysters on the Half Shell: Great selection of East Coast Oysters that ranged in taste from super briny to mild. Add in the whole jar of horseradish you can use to kick up that cocktail sauce and you got yourself a party in your mouth. Buffalo Cauliflower: A steal at $4.50! Super spicy. Huge portion. If someone is not a fan of seafood then this is what you use to drag them into the building. Drinks: Wife got a glass of wine and Hugo Spritz. I got a Cucumber Martini and a Pineapple Mezcal drink. Expertly crafted by the bartender Joe. Look, the place has been around for over 100 years so clearly they are doing something right. Cheers to another 100.

I am a seafood lover and was referred by a friend to check out Docks when in Atlantic City, NJ Docks was busy and bustling on a Thursday night. Everyone in the bar area to the host stand to the back of the restaurant were in very good spirits The tables were all decorated with giant oyster crackers in a jar & the restaurant itself was decorated beautifully in an " under the sea " theme The service was fast & efficient but not rushed. The oysters were fresh, shucked well & came with an array of toppings The filet was cooked to a proper medium and the sides were shareable. Everything was priced reasonably, seasoned well & delicious Would definitely return

One of the restaurants on our list that we finally got to try in Atlantic City. We went for happy hour, but it was way too crowded at the bar so we decided to just do dinner. Happy hour os s good deal with all appetizers 1/2 price. Drinks aren't discounted.People start lining up about 15 to 20 minutes before happy hour even starts. We decide to just do dinner. It took about 10 minutes to get seated in the dining room. The server came over as soon as we sat down we were able to order a drink and our meal. The food came out pretty quickly. I had ordered mine without sauce, but it came with the sauce, so I had to wait until they could make a new one. The server seems a little annoyed that the food had to go back. Both the flounder in the salmon were really good both were perfectly cooked and my husband really liked the potato crust on the flounder really enjoyed the meal here and will definitely be back. It is an old school restaurant vibe with good food and service. Street parking is available.

Amazing dinner! Came here with colleagues after a conference not knowing it was restaurant week. Make your reservations regardless I heard they book up fast and for the right reasons! They had a lot of room downstairs and upstairs, great ambiance, lighting with a bit low but you can still see your menu. I ordered off the restaurant menu and supplemented with other items. The champagne leek oysters is to die for! The best oysters I've had so far, packed so much flavor! We also got the seafood tower and that could have been enough for me for the night, it came with jumbo shrimp, ceviche that was perfection, lobster, clams and oysters! The sauces were the best. For my meal I got the potato crusted flounder, great portion filet of fish topped with a potato crust. And for dessert was a keylime pie. Everything was fantastic, I heard there was another location in New York but this location is iconic.

Dock's Oyster House is on of the best dinner restaurants in Atlantic City especially among the non casino restaurants. With that fame comes with reservations are needed to dine here. Don't expect just to walk in and be seated. It's not going to happen but the bar area is open seating. I believe they offer complimentary valet parking, other than that you can park on the street or just walk from several of the boardwalk casinos. It's located on Atlantic Avenue one block behind the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. I had dinner here last week and was fortunate to get a small table in the bar because I waited too late to make a reservation. It was about 6:30 pm when I arrived and shortly after that the bar area got slammed with people. I ordered the Docks House Salad ($10) to start and for the entree I chose the Pan Sautéed Blackened Red Snapper for $33. While I waited for the salad, I enjoyed the music of their live piano player who is located in the bar area but can be heard throughout the restaurant. You can actually sit at the piano if you wish, The salad arrived shortly after and consisted of dark greens with pecan halves and I substituted goat cheese for the blue cheese. It was a very good tasting salad. Quality ingredients. Next was the entree served in a wide bowl. Other than the generous filet of snapper there was some shrimp, clams, andouille sausage, okra and jambalaya all in a red sauce that was delicious. It was quite good tasting and a meal that I really enjoyed. Finally my table service was very good. This was a meal that I would be happy to order again. I believe Docks is a quality dinner restaurant that you should visit especially when you want to escape your casinos dining options. Closed Mondays.

If you're looking for an upscale seafood spot in Atlantic City that caters to locals, this restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right--elegant yet comfortable, with an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. We sat at the bar, and the service was top-notch. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, making us feel like regulars while we enjoyed the Phillies game on the TVs. As for the food, we were absolutely blown away. The oysters, despite being out of season, were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The clams were equally impressive, and the night's special was delicious. If you find yourself in Atlantic City, I highly recommend making a stop here. We loved it so much we almost went back the very next night!
